Michigan, Seaborg
The Seaborg ERC at Northern Michigan University hosted a day-long workshop
for K-12 teachers on activities for teaching astronomy and physics. Staff
from our ERC conducted a session on integrating science, social studies,
the arts and language arts. The presentation used activities from the
Sun-Earth Day packet on Ancient Observatories, and demonstrated the NASA
Sun-Earth Day web site. Teachers were especially interested in the Native
American Connections, since several Native American tribes are represented
in our area. Twenty-one teachers attended the workshop, each receiving a
packet of NASA materials.
