This arch is made from the lower jaw bones of a large sized bowhead whale. It was erected in the 1980’s by Charles D. Brower's sons. Today it serves as a tourist attraction where visitors from all over the world pose to have their pictures taken by the Chuckhi Sea. To the right and the left of the whale bone arches are the frames of 2 umiaks. These wooden frames are covered with the hides of bearded seal and become the principal method of transportation during spring whaling.
