This is the CDF V3.4.1 software distribution
for Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 systems.
This binary package is built by MS Visual Studio .Net 2005
VC++ (V8.0) compiler for the 32-bit mode, and 2008 VS .Net VC++
(V9.0) for the 64-bit mode.  The version sub-incremental is
identified as "_#", e.g., _0, _1, etc.  The package is
set to be installed into C:\CDF Distribution\cdf34_1-dist directory,
by default.

This directory contains the following files:

AAREADME.txt	This is the readme text file you're viewing. 

CHANGES.txt     This file describes the changes made for the current release.

Release.notes	This file describes the changes for CDF V3.4.1.

cdf34_1_*-setup-32.exe 
                This self-installation file contains everything CDF offers, 
                except for the CDF Perl APIs. It contains the followings:

                   - CDF core library and MS Foundation Class-based tools
                   - CDF C, Fortran, and Java APIs 
                   - Cygwin-based as well as Java version of the CDF tools
                   - CDF XML tools
                This is the 32-bit mode version of the distribution.

cdf34_1_*-setup-64.exe 
                This self-installation file is similar to the above file, only
                it is the 64-bit mode version. It can only be installed into
                64-bit Windows systems.

csharp-cdf34_1_*-setup-32.exe
                This self-extracting package contains the pre-built C#-CDF
                APIs, sample programs, batch files and documentation (to be
                updated/included).  This is the 32-bit mode version of the
                distribution.

csharp-cdf34_1_*-setup-64.exe
                This self-extracting package is similar to the above file, only
                it is the 64-bit mode version. It can only be installed onto
                64-bit Windows systems.

src_distribution
                This file directs you to the source code for the CDF V3.4.1.

CDFLeapSeconds.txt
                This is the leap second table used by the CDF library.

perlcdf34_1_*-setup-32.exe
                This self-extracting package contains the pre-built Perl
                CDF APIs.  This is for 32-bit mode. 

perlcdf34_1_*-setup-64.exe
                This self-extracting package contains the pre-built Perl
                CDF APIs.  This is for 64-bit mode.

perl5.10.0-setup-32.exe
                This self-extracting package contains the binary version
                of Perl V5.10.0 module, built from MS Visual Studio 2005. 
                It will work with the distributed 32-bit Perl-CDF package,
                mentioned above. Use this Perl if the ActivePerl,
                downloadable from ActiveState site, does not work.

perl5.12.2-setup-64.exe
                This self-extracting package contains the binary version
                of Perl V5.12.2 module, built from MS Visual Studio 2008. 
                It will work with the distributed 64-bit Perl-CDF package,
                mentioned above. Use this Perl if the ActivePerl,
                downloadable from ActiveState site, does not work.

cdfjava.jar     This is the latest version of cdfjava.jar that
                contains the latest Java APIs.  This file is also
                included in cdf34_1_*-setup-[32|64].exe.
                It is here for those who installed the Java APIs a while
                back, and might not have the latest Java APIs.

                If you are not sure whether you have the latest
                version of the Java APIs, download this file and
                replace the one you have in the
                <cdf34_1_dir>\lib directory.

cdfml.jar       This file contains the latest version of the CDF XML
                utilities (written in Java). This file is also included
                in cdf34_1_*-setup-[32|64].exe. It is here
                for those who already have downloaded and installed an
                old version of pre-built binary file.

                If you are not sure whether you have the latest
                version of the CDF XML tools, download this file and
                replace the one you have in the
                <cdf34_1_dir>\cdfml directory.
