TWINS README file This directory contains the data that SPDF has received from the TWINS satellite mission. twins/twins1/.. or twins/twins2/.. ..imager: This directory contains the level 1 data from the Energetic Neutral Atoms (ENA) imager in daily files in CDF format provided by the PI, D. McComas (SwRI). ..lad: This directory contains the level 1 geocorona data from the Lyman Alpha Detector (LAD) experiment in daily files in CDF format provided by H. Fahr (U. Bonn, Germany) ..tistorm_imager: This directory contains maps of plasma sheet ion temperature in GSM coordinates during storm events. The ion temperature was calculated from the ENA measurements for storm events during the years 2008 to 2013. The data were provided by A. Keesee (UNH) in IDL savesets and was converted to CDF at SPDF. The analysis method for computing the ion temperature is explained in the following paper: Keesee, A. M., & Scime, E. E. (2015). Database of ion temperature maps during geomagnetic storms. Earth and Space Science, 2, 39-46. https://doi.org/10.1002/2014EA000061. An updated data set with more storm events covering the time period 2009 to 2017 was submitted by R. Katus (Eastern Michigan University) in CDF format and is listed in the directory twins/combined/ena/m2/. ..aa_pre_generated_plots: Pre generated plots for various conditions and parameters in PNG format. - ..ephemeris Orbit and attitude data for the mission in CDF format. ..housekeeping_cdf and ..housekeeping_idl Housekeeping data for the whole mission in CDF and IDL saveset format. ..level0 Orbit and attitude data for the mission in ASCII format. twins/combined/ena/m2/: This directory contains maps of plasma sheet ion temperature in GSM coordinates during storm events. This is a data set using the same technique as the one listed in twins/twins1/tistorm_imager and twins/twins2/tistorm_imager. It includes more storm events covering the time period 2009 to 2017. It was submitted by R. Katus (Eastern Michigan University) in CDF format. The paper describing the newer dataset is: Keesee, A., Katus, R. M., Floyd, M., & Scime, E. (2020).
