Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) Charge, Element, and Isotope Analysis System (CELIAS) Proton Monitor (PM) 5-minute Data

This directory contains CDF files with the CELIAS-PM 5-minute data, including proton speed, density, thermal speed, arrival direction, helium predicted speed, Earth Carrington Rotation Number, and SOHO orbit information, created from the original ASCII files at <https://soho.nascom.nasa.gov/data/archive.html>. Copies of the original ASCII files are also archived at SPDF at <https://spdf.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/data/soho/celias/ascii/>.

2022-06-15 release of version 2 CDF files: The original ASCII files have been reprocessed by the CELIAS-PM team using version 8.0b5 of the Proton Monitor program PMSW, resulting in significant changes to the previous version data created with PMSW version 7 and used in creating version 1 CDF files. These new ASCII files have been used to create version 2 CDF files. Compared to PMSW version 7, PMSW version 8.0b5 uses improved routines for calculating the solar wind bulk speed and density when SOHO is rotated 180 degrees. It also uses a gain decay correction derived using data from a longer time period.
