File: P11TRJ_MISSION_FMT.txt Version: NSSDC 11/15/2001 JFC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Pioneer 11 Trajectory Ephemeris Archive from Pioneer Project: heliocentric and planetocentric coordinates for cruise and Jupiter/Saturn planetary encounters Data Set Coverage (yyyy-mm-dd): 1973-04-06 to 2000-01-01 Data Set Contact: David W. Lozier, NASA Ames Research Center NSSDC Data Set ID: 73-019A-00G Description: this is the full archival data set submitted to NSSDC by the Pioneer Project at NASA Ames Research Center and includes comprehensive ASCII documentation in SFDU format. See files VOLDESC.sfdu for the spacecraft and data set descriptions and file FORMAT.sfdu for the detailed format description. Time intervals between data points are daily through 1990-01-01 and monthly thereafter. Data Set Files: TRJP11mmn.asc - data in six month blocks (mm= year, n= A or B for Jan-Jun or Jul-Dec,resp.) VOLDESC1.sfdu - SFDU volume description file for 1973-1989 VOLDESC2.sfdu - SFDU volume description file for 1990-2000 FORMAT.sfdu - SFDU format description file Parameter Format: fully described in the SFDU document files. Codes READ_ECL.for, READ_JUP.for, and READ_SAT.for can be used to extract coordinates for solar ecliptic, Jupiter System III, and Saturn (Pioneer 11 only). Related Information and Data: Further details on the spacecraft, experiment, data sets at NSSDC, and related WWW sites can be found on the Pioneer 10/11 flight project page under http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space/ Hour averages of the interplanetary solar wind data from, and hourly heliocentric coordinates of, Pioneer 10/11 and other interplanetary spacecraft may be also be accessed and plotted on-line through the COHOWeb service based at the same WWW site as above. Access to the Satellite Situation Center (SSC) service for heliocentric coordinates from Pioneer, Voyager, Ulysses, and other heliocentric spacecraft is also provided from this site.
