File: P11TRD_DIR.txt Version: NSSDC 11/15/2001 JFC --------------------------------------------------------------------------- PIONEER 11 TRAPPED RADIATION DETECTOR (TRD) EXPERIMENT - INTERPLANETARY COUNTING RATES Principal Investigator: Dr. Walker Fillius CASS University of California - San Diego La Jolla, CA Description: The HOUR directory includes hour averages of selected interplanetary cosmic ray counting rates in ASCII format from the Pioneer 11 Trapped Radiation Detector (TRD) experiment. The hourly data were derived from the full TRD 30-min. homogeneous summary data set in the NSSDC magnetic tape archive; documentation are provided in SFDU (Standard Formatted Data Unit) format in subdirectory 30_MIN for the experiment and the full data set, including more recent data files for 1990 and onward. See file P11TRD_1H_FMT.txt in subdirectory HOUR for further details of the hourly data set. In the current directory also see file P11TRD_NMC.txt for the experiment description from the NSSDC Master Catalog. Related Information and Data: Further details on the spacecraft, experiment, data sets at NSSDC, and related WWW sites can be found on the Pioneer 10/11 flight project page under http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space/ Hour averages of the interplanetary solar wind data from, and hourly heliocentric coordinates of, Pioneer 10/11 and other interplanetary spacecraft may be also be accessed and plotted on-line through the COHOWeb service based at the same WWW site as above.
