File: P11TRD_30M_FMT.txt Version: NSSDC 11/15/2001 JFC ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INTERPLANETARY COSMIC RAY COUNTING RATES FROM THE PIONEER 11 TRAPPED RADIATION DETECTOR (TRD) EXPERIMENT - 30 MIN. AVERAGED HOMOGENEOUS SUMMARY DATA Principal Investigator: Dr. Walker Filius University of California - San Diego La Jolla, California Description: The full TRD 30-min. homogeneous summary data set is currently kept off-line in the NSSDC magnetic tape archive (NSSDC ID # 73-019A-05H) and can be ordered by e-mail to the NSSDC Coordinated Request User Support Office (CRUSO) at request@nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov. The documentation in Standard Formatted Data Unit (SFDU) files (*.sfdu) and sample data for 1990 and onward are available in the present directory. Hour averages of selected cosmic ray counting rates from these data may be found in the HOUR directory; these hourly data files were produced using the READTRD.for FORTRAN code. Note that all data files originally having *.DAT extensions have been changed here to *.asc. Related Information and Data: Further details on the spacecraft, experiment, data sets at NSSDC, and related WWW sites can be found on the Pioneer 10/11 flight project page under http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space/ Hour averages of the interplanetary solar wind data from, and hourly heliocentric coordinates of, Pioneer 10/11 and other interplanetary spacecraft may be also be accessed and plotted on-line through the COHOWeb service based at the same WWW site as above. Acknowledgement: Use of these data in publications should be accompanied at minimum by acknowledgements of the National Space Science Data Center and the responsible Principal Investigator defined in the experiment documentation provided here.
