File: P10MAG_DIR.txt Version: 2/26/2002 JFC ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This directory group includes ASCII data and documentation from the Pioneer 10 Helium Vector Magnetometer (HVM) experiment which is described briefly in file P10MAG_NMC, extracted from the NSSDC Master Catalog. Brief descriptions and formats for each data set may be found in the text files within each subdirectory. File MAGCOORD.txt defines the various coordinate systems used for interplanetary and planetary HVM data. The file P10HVM_15M.SFD provides a detailed description of the Pioneer spacecraft, the HVM experiment, and the data. This ASCII document is written in Standard Formatted Data Unit (SFDU) format as part of NSSDC data set 72-012A-01I for 15-minute averaged data. Contents of the various subdirectories are as follows: IP_1MIN_ASCII - minute averaged interplanetary magnetic field data IP_15MIN_ASCII - 15 minute averaged interplanetary magnetic field data (data ingest pending to this directory) IP_1HOUR_ASCII - hourly averaged interplanetary magnetic field data JUPITER_1MIN_ASCII - minute averaged Jovian encounter magnetic field data Related Information and Data: Further details on the spacecraft, experiment, data sets at NSSDC, and related WWW sites can be found on the Pioneer 10/11 flight project page at http://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/space/ Hour averages of the interplanetary solar wind data from, and hourly heliocentric coordinates of, Pioneer 10/11 and other interplanetary spacecraft may be also be accessed and plotted on-line through the COHOWeb service based at the same WWW site as above.
