https://spdf.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/data/omni/high_res_omni/sc_specific/00readme.txt This directory provides a path to spacecraft-specific ACE, Wind, IMP 8 and Geotail data sets created as part of the effort to create the High Resolution OMNI data set. For 1995 and later, 15-16 sec magnetic field were shifted by Minimum Variance and/or Crossed Product techniques from their observation points to the bow shock nose. For 1998-2000, 16 sec ACE magnetic field were shifted by each of four shift techniques from their observation points to the location of the Wind spacecraft. Plasma parameters are also shifted in both cases. These data and the format are extensively discussed at http://omniweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/html/HROdocum.html. These data are also available with graphical display and time- and parameter-subsetting for any one spacecraft or for any combination of spacecraft at http://omniweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/form/sc_merge_min1.html This directory provides annual files of the 1-min data, plus subdirectoies for monthly files of the 1-min data and annual files of 5-min data created from the 1-min data. The file names have the form scname_min_xxyyyy.txt for 1-min data and scname_5min_byyyy.txt for 5-min data, where scname = ace, imp, wind or geotail xx = b, 2w, 3w, 4w, 5w, w xx = b: 1-min or 5-min data shifted to bow shock nose (by technique 4) xx = 2w (ACE shifted to Wind by technique 2 - MVAB-0) xx = 3w (ACE shifted to Wind by technique 3 - cross products) xx = 4w (ACE shifted to Wind by technique 4 - combination of 2 and 3) xx = 5w (ACE shifted to Wind by technique 5 - another combo of 2 and 3) xx = w (unshifted Wind data) yyyy = year The monthly files of 1-min data use the same naming convention, with yyyy replaced by yyyymm. This directory also contains a file (format.txt) detailing the common format of all the spacecraft-specific data sets. --------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------- Related data and directories: SPDF Data and Orbits Services ------------------------------------------- Acknowledgement: Use of these data in publications should be accompanied by acknowledgements of the Space Physics Data Facility(SPDF) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- SPDF Contact: Natalia Papitashvili --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Authorizing NASA Official: Dr. R.E.
