00README.txt Updated 16 July 2019 The CDF structure used to store the topside electron density profiles (EDPs) was based on that used in the crc_ne_profiles directory (CRC ISIS topside EDP data). The CRC CDFs contained one month of EDPs in each file, but these CDFs contain a single EDP. Two versions of the X trace were scaled for each ionogram. The lower edge of the X trace was scaled as the "min" X trace. Its inversion is considered the primary result of the analysis. The upper edge of the X trace was scaled as the "max" X trace. For a clean ionogram, the two traces should be very close; when the trace is spread by a complex structured ionosphere, the upper "edge" may be difficult to define but this trace could be regarded as the limiting case for the ionogram. The difference between the primary "min" trace and the limiting "max" trace may be used as an indicator of ionospheric disturbance. Data arrays were created with a fixed length, following the CRC example, with unused array elements set to the fill value for the variable. The CDFs were created with version 3.7.1 libraries.
