Interplanetary Hourly Averaged Magnetic Field Data from Helios 1

This directory includes interplanetary magnetic field data from two 
triaxial fluxgate magnetometers for fluctuating (P.I.: F. Neubauer) and 
average (P.I.: N. F. Ness) magnetic fields measured on the Helios 1 
spacecraft. The files FGM_NEUBAUER_NMC and FGM_NESS_NMC include 
information extracted from the NSSDC Master Catalog on these two 
experiments. 

Directory      Description
---------      -----------

6SEC_NESS      Six-second averaged interplanetary magnetic field data from
               the Ness et al. magnetometer. Filenames have prefix 
               HE1yyddd.asc for day ddd of year 19yy.

HOUR_NESS      Hourly averaged interplanetary magnetic field data from
               the Ness et al. magnetometer. Filenames have prefix 
               HE1MGA*. 

HOUR_NEUBAUER  Hourly averaged interplanetary magnetic field data from
               the Neubauer et al. magnetometer. Filenames have prefix
               HE1MGB*. These data are also included in the merged solar 
               wind data set described in directory HELIOS_1/MGD_FREEMAN.

Hour averages of the interplanetary solar wind data from, and hourly 
heliocentric coordinates of, Helios 1/2 and other interplanetary 
spacecraft may be also be accessed and plotted on-line through the 
COHOWeb service based at the same WWW site as above.
