Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP-F16) Special Sensor Ultraviolet Spectrographic Imager (SSUSI) daily summary images.

This directory contains DMSP-F16 SSUSI three-color images (blue=130.4 nm, green=135.6 nm, red=LBH short nitrogen band 140-152 nm) made of a day’s worth of observations. There are three types of images: cylindrical map projection of nightside data (cylindrical/ subdirectory), disk observations lined up by the start of the orbit time (strip_disk/ subdirectory), and limb observations lined up by time (strip_limb/ subdirectory). Note that in 2016 SSUSI instrument was switched from imaging to staring spectrograph mode, and all the images in cylindrical/ subdirectory after year 2016 are spectrograms (about 120 nm to 180 nm wavelength range) stacked along each orbit.
