Dynamics Explorer-2 (DE 2) Unified Abstract (UA) Data This directory gathers merged mission data for the DE 2 spacecraft which was launched on 3 August 1981 into an elliptical orbit with an altitude range of 300 km to 1000 km and re-entered the atmosphere on 19 February 1983. The following files included in this directory provide information about the data: (1) Description_ASCII_format.txt - Description of data and ASCII format (2) List_available_parameters.txt - Lists availability of parameters (3) List_UA_files - List of available UA data files (4) List_operational_experiment.txt - List of operational experiments for each day (5) FORTRAN programs to read and test UA files: UREAD, DE2_UA_OAREAD4, DE2_UA_UROPEN, DE2_TEST_UA. /ua_16s_ascii (NSSDC ID: 81-070B-00J, -03F -04E, -05C, -06C, -07C, -09G) The Unified Abstract (UA) data are provided as daily files containing 16-sec averages of data from the Langmuir Probe (LANG), the Neutral Atmosphere Composition Experiment (NACS), the Wind and Temperature Spectrometer (WATS), the Fabry-Perot Interferometer (FPI), the Retarding Potential Analyzer (RPA), and the Ion Drift Meter (IDM) for the time period from Aug 14, 1981 to Feb 16, 1983. The ASCII version was generated at NSSDC from the binary data using the PI-provided software. This version also includes orbit parameters as obtained with the OA data base and software. Filenames: yyyyddd_de2_ua_16s_v01.asc. /ua_atmoweb A special version of the UA data set in ASCII format used by the ATMOWeb graphical browse interface . See 00readme.txt file in the ua_atmoweb directory. /ua16s_all_cdaweb A version of the UA data set in CDF format used by the CDAWeb graphical browse interface .
