Low Energy Proton and Electron Plasma Data

NSSDC ID: SPMS-00269

Availability: Exclusively CDAW Proprietary Data - Contact Agent for More Information

Time span: 1977-07-28 to 1977-12-12

Description

These experimenter-supplied plasma data are on binary magnetic tape created on a DEC system 1099 computer. The first record of each file is a 16-word header containing eight ion energy steps (19.2 keV to 0.06 keV) and eight electron energy steps (22.9 keV to 0.07 keV) expressed in eV. Each successive record is 260 words long and contains day of year, hour, minute and second of day, and four sets of the eight-step energy sweep data (four spectra). The spectra are from the four detectors each of which views ions at a pitch angle of 45 deg, electrons at a pitch angle of 45 deg, ions at a pitch angle of 165 deg, or electrons at a pitch angle of 165 deg. All spectra are high to low energy. This data set was submitted as input for a Coordinated Data Analysis Workshop, and is therefore limited to short periods within the time interval covered.
