AE-E, EUVS, Preliminary Solar EUV Flux Data

NSSDC ID: SOUV-00050

Availability: At NSSDC, Ready for Offline Distribution (or Staging if Digital)

Time span: 1976-12-27 to 1979-12-30

Description

These investigator supplied solar EUV data and descriptions are contained on 5 files: EUVFLX is an early version of EUV irradiances in 7 wavelength groups (175 - 1216 A) from 77154 (yyddd) to 79364; 13DAY includes 13-day averages of the UV flux in 10 wavelength groups (1375-1850 A) from 76362 to 79083 (points given every 3 days); 81DAY includes 81-day averages of the UV flux in 10 wavelength groups from 76364 to 79049 (points given every 9 days); INTRO discusses the files 13DAY and 81DAY; MN12 includes all flux data from monochromator #12 (small aperture). The 13DAY, 81DAY and MN12 data file sample a restricted region of the sun that excludes active regions and should not be used in aeronomical studies. Included in these files are the nominal number of days of the average, number of days of existing observations, number of observations within the averaging range of days; and the standard deviation, and maximum and minimum average values for each wavelength group. Flux values are given in units of 1.E6 photons/sq cm/s/wavelength interval. Data users should also look into the AE data and models on CD-ROM (NSSDC ID: 75-107A-06D).
