Mission name: Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon's Interaction with the Sun (ARTEMIS) Instrument: THEMIS Fluxgate Magnetometer (FGM), THEMIS Electrostatic Analyzer (ESA) PI/Provider name: Connor O'Brien Institute: Boston University Contact info: obrienco@bu.edu Data description: Times and positions of the ARTEMIS-P1 spacecraft as it observed a transition between the Earth's magnetosphere and the magnetosheath. Regions were identified using a combination of particle spectra and 3D magnetic field measurements. Specifically, events with a clear rotation from a strongly GSE X aligned/antialigned magnetic field of the North/South magnetotail lobes to the turbulent magnetic field of the magnetosheath at the same time the ESA ion spectra show a transition between the nonthermal plasma of the magnetosphere to the thermalized plasma of the magnetosheath were selected. Time between successive events is not limited. Acknowledgement: Connor O'Brien acknowleges support from Brian Walsh, Michael Collier, and David Sibeck in the creation of this dataset.
